LG G Flex 2 retail package
It comes with a
standard retail box which comes with wall charger, microUSB cable and LG
QuadBeats 2 in-ear tangle free headset. Charger plugs fast charging of up to 60%
in just 30 minutes.
Design
Let me make this right, LG G Flex 2 is not a flexible
phone. It won’t bend under pressure, we
don’t recommend trying to bend it back to straight profile.
It features a 5.5” P-OLED curved display, but with higher
1080p display resolution and a pixel density of 403ppi density. The curved
screen looks amazing, especially when you are enjoying highres multimedia
content in landscape orientation.
The display is protected by a curved piece of Corning
Gorilla Glass 3, but LG has enhanced it further making it 20% tougher than
usual.
The back is removable in which you can only access micoSIM
and micoSD slot because the battery is not removable. It has two tiny silver
accent frames which improves the looks and nicely separate the screen and the
chassis from the battery cover. All elements of the phone are glossy, the rear
self healing coating isn’t prone to finger prints, nor are the sides of the
phone. Handling the phone is a real pleasure while the grip isn’t great due to
the glossy design.
It features no controls at the front. Above the display, there
is a LED notification light, the 2.1 MP front camera and a bunch of hidden
sensors and the centered ear piece. Nothing is on the left and the right sides
of the phone.
The bottom, 3.5mm
audio jack, primary microphone and the microUSB port. Top, IR blaster
and secondary mic for active noise cancellation and stereo video recording.
At the back, Above the 13 MP camera . It featuires OIS and
it works side by side with laser auto focus. Below the camera docks, iconic
power/lock and the volume rocker. The loudspeaker grille at the bottom left
corner is the last notable feature on the back.
Display
It has a new brand of screen – Plastic OLED, manufactured by
in house LG. traditional OLEDs have their light diodes on a sheet of glass, but
using a plastic substrate LG has managed to make the screen curved.
It features a 5.5-inch though smaller than the first Flex,
it has a higher resolution of 1080p.
Battery life
Before buying a phone, please consider the battery life.
Flex 2 has a 3000 mAh which is 500 mAh less than the original Flex.
Endurance rating is above average at 62 hours, you expect
two and half days without charging
Connectivity
Has quad band 2G/EDGE support, quad band 3G with HSPA+ and
LTE cat.6 support too.
Performance
The first smartphone we meet that utilizes the latest
available Snapdragon 810 chipset is Flex 2. Its processor comprises of Four
Cortex A57 clocked at 2.0 GHz and
another four Cortex A53 clocked 1.5GHz with Adreno GPU. Also having 2 GB RAM
for 16 GB model and 3 GB for 32 GB model.
Camera
Flex 2 has borrowed the sensor and setup from G3. Flex 2
uses a 13 MP camera with OIS for still along with phase detection focus on the
sensor aided by infrared sensor to help distance information. There is also a
dual-LED flash to cover lower light shooting.
Conclusion
The key selling point of the phone is the curved OLED
display with a special edition strengthened Gorilla Glass 3 at front and
updated self healing coating on the plastic back.
