As the battle for supremacy in the world of smartphones continues,
Sony has taken a leap forward by introducing a new type of screen technology to
their new smartphones Z5 family. Z5 family includes Xperia Z5, Xperia Z5 Compact,
Xperia Z5 premium. The phones share many features, the unique thing about the
Xperia premium is that it has 4k screen unlike the others in the family that
is, Xperia Z5 and Xperia Z5 compact.
For Sony Xperia Z5 which seems to be the least impressive of
the line up. it has 5.2” FullHD (1920 x 1080 pixels) IPS LCD display with
428ppi, 3 GB RAM, 146 x 72 x 7.3 mm, 154g, 2900mAh battery.
For Sony Xperia Z5 Compact, it has 4.6” HD (1280 x 720
pixels) IPS LCD display with 323ppi, 2GB RAM, 2700mAh battery, 127 x 65 x 8.9
mm, 138g.
And lastly for Sony Xperia Z5 premium, it has the following,
5.5 UHD (1280 x 2160 pixels) IPS LCD display with 323ppi, 3GB RAM, 3430mAh
battery, 154.4 x 75.8 x 7.8, 180g.
The family shares the following specs;

Cortex-A57 plus 1.5 quad-core Cortex-A53 processor, Adreno 430 GPU.
Qualcomm Quick charge certified.
Side mounted fingerprint sensor in the power button.
The World’s first 4K phone display
Yeah, you heard it, the first 4k phone display which is
Xperia premium. 5.5-inch 4k (3840 x 2160), with rich colors and deep blacks. We
can’t give the verdict due to the little time spend with the phone but it is
for sure, it is an amazing screen. To me, I don’t think I need a 4k screen on
my phone, though it is amazing but am not ready for that, it is a leap to the
feature.
It seems fingerprint recognition is a must for any flagship
phones in this timeline. All the phones in this family come with fingerprint
sensor.
Snapdragon 810 chip inside the three had some reported
issues with overheating and is known to become very frugal with battery life and
also with the 4k display which will obviously a consumer, so the question is
will it deliver the promised endurance battery life or it is just a joke? We are
still waiting for it so that we can be sure after we benchmark the phone.
Obviously the price will be higher, more so the Xperia
Premium, this will affect the sales turn out. With this era, a few $100 can
afford q good phone and there are plenty of middle range smartphones which are
as good, though they don’t have 4k screens. But wait Apple’s iPhone 7 is coming
soon, will it have 4k screen too, one way to find out. We are waiting for it.
